I did a lot of research when sourcing this product, as it is supposed to be one of the most accurate and consistent available. All the documentation lists both imperial and metric measurments, so I assumed there was some switch on the base.
This model is ONLY imperial (lbs only), and DOES NOT DO METRIC (kg) at all.
It's going to take too long and cost too much to return this (from Australia), so just make sure you are getting the right version when you order as it is either one or the other measurement types, NOT BOTH, no matter how generic the documentation appears.
For what it is worth, and international call to their customer support was less than useless (they were telling me to look for the switch above the battery compartment to change it!!)

After going through two scales...the Walmart Health o Meter which was too small and the Bed Bath Weight Watchers which was too inconsistent, I finally ordered the more expensive Lifesource based upon the reviews at Amazon. I have not been disappointed. The Lifesource is very accurate and consistent when compared to my old but reliable Health o Meter Doctors scales. I do agree with another reviewer that the memory function works fine with only one user but is not too useful if my wife and I both choose to use the memory or other functions that are accessed on the bottom of the scale. We both log our weight daily in our personal calendars so that is not an issue. We just wanted a consistently reliable weight scale and this one delivers. We did notice several slight indentations on the top of the scale (has anyone else noticed this on their scale?), but they are not noticeable except at certain angles and are not a big deal.
This scale seems to be accurate and consistent and we are both very satisfied. Thanks for the reviews that led us to this scale.

I purchased the Lifesource UC 321 Health Scale over a year ago. It is not cheap for a bathroom scale, but if you are seriously interested in tracking your weight, I highly recommend this scale.My previous experience with digital scales is that they are very inaccurate. This scale is accurate to the tenth of a pound. My test for any scale is to step on it three times in a row. Most scales will give three different weights. The LifeSource doesn't vary at all. Additionally, It has a memory feature that tells the amount of weight gain or loss since the last weigh-in. The LED read-out is large and clear. I have yet to change the battery. Best scale I have ever owned and worth every cent.
